Art about War                                                            I chose to really focus on the Vietnam War.   "Vietnam II" by Leon Golub was created in 1973. As for the location, Golub was living and working in New York City at the time, so it's possible that he painted it there.   During the 1800s, two major art movements emerged that greatly influenced the art world: Romanticism and Realism. Romanticism was characterized by its focus on emotion, imagination, and individualism, while Realism was marked by a desire to depict the world as it truly was, without idealization or embellishment. Both movements sought to capture the essence of their respective subjects, but through vastly different approaches. Romantic artists often depicted fantastical and dreamlike scenes, while Realist artists aimed to represent reality as accurately as possible.
