My Art analysis

This piece is Street Light Painting by Tai Meng Lim, created in 2017. He is a  freelance artist born in 1976 and is from Malaysia. I found his artwork by looking at pictures of paintings on Google, and this one caught my attention. One element I love about this is the texture. I love oil paintings and the way they feel on the canvas. Oil paintings create bumps and valleys due to their medium. This also makes them more resistant to wear and tear than other paintings.  I feel like oil paintings are best used to capture landscapes because they can add a particular "chef's kiss" to the overall picture.

Another element I love about this painting is color. This image uses yellow and white colors to give it light. I also love how he captured the light reflecting off tree leaves to show us a dark green color and how it reflects off the ground to show us he is walking on a cement sidewalk. The artist also incorporated the elements of space and perspective. He did this by making it look like we were walking by a guard rail, and on the other side was a massive drop into the unknown. I would love to own a copy of this, and if you would, you can purchase it from him at the link below.

  1. I've never seen this before, but I can see why you enjoy this painting so much. The blue sky in the background is very peaceful. The realism seems to come from the color more than anywhere else and it's expertly done. Thank you for sharing this piece!
